Graduated from college! / Upcoming General Conference

Well, I have graduated from Niagara County Community College with a 3.9 average! It was a lot of hard work, but I enjoyed it. I have my Associates in Science in Digital Media. I can design websites now. I also have a knowledge of how the internet works, and about different social media. I know the Lord had his hand in my getting this degree. I started out working full time and going to school full time. I was able to take some online courses and some night courses to work around my work schedule. Then I found out I had to sign up for classes that were only offered during my work day. I wondered and prayed on how to handle that. The Lord took care of that also. I was downsized out of my job, so I was free to finish school and get my degree. The harder classes started then, and I was glad I had more time to work on my homework and papers. Then just before my last semester I was sending out resumes to various printing places, and I went to the temple with my husband. We got back later in the day, and I found an email from one of them saying they would love for me to come in for an interview and they could work around my school schedule! I am still working there, and I love it. I am bringing home more money working part time than I did working full time at my old job.

The April General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is next weekend. I can't wait. I love to hear what the Prophet has to say. Actually I love all the talks throughout the two days. They are all so informative. If you would like to watch them you can go to LDS.org and watch them online.

Mom's Cancer

My mom has been going through Chemo and radiation. She has a 2 cm cancerous tumor on her cervix. Could not do surgery as it was too close to her bladder. She was told it is very curable. She would need to go through 5 weeks of radiation 5 days a week, and 5 days of chemo - once a week for 5 weeks. She has had all her chemo, but has not been able to finish her radiation. She has 5 more days. She had to go to emergency room last Monday because her potassium was really low. She had to stay overnight. She was not able to eat for days after chemo because of being sick, the anti nausia medicine was giving her diarhea so she would just not eat. She still has low potassium but they gave her a different kind of nausia medicine and she is able to eat now.

She will go back to cancer doctor on the 17th. If anyone is reading this, please pray for her recovery.

Saturday Afternoon session

Great talks. Especially loved Elder Christofferson and Elder Holland's talks.

Rain, Rain go away!

Wow, it has been raining a lot lately. The puddle in our back yard was drying up a little last night and this morning, but got more rain this afternoon, and it is bigger than it was before, and there are more puddles back there. I sure hope we see some sunshine soon. The farmer that rents our land was able to get his corn in before it started raining, but not able to fertilize it or put weed killer on it, so field looks real fuzzy with plants. My lettuce and radishes and marigolds are loving it. Picked some lettuce for dinner tonight. Was really good. I planted it in planters then put it on a table, have seen evidence of bunnies around the table, but they can't get the lettuce! YAY!!!! Now if we can keep the critters out of our other veggies, that would be great.

Beautiful Memorial Day

What a great day it was today. Temp was just right. Dear hubby planted the garden today. Sun was beautiful. I went for a long walk in the back 40 today, listened to wildlife, and music on my ipod.

What a great Sabbath Day! We had our stake conference at our ward today. It was a broadcast from Salt Lake City. Great Speakers! And we had our granddaughter all weekend. I love that our temp today was 80! We have finally seen the female Baltimore Orioles and hummingbirds. They started coming Saturday. Now the Orioles are eating the grape jelly almost as fast as I can get it out there! Seeing the females back just hits home that spring is officially here. No more cold weather! Yea!
